Concentis is partnering with a Tier 1 company in the mining sector to source a
Project Controls Engineer to support the successful delivery of a large and diverse Sustaining Capital Portfolio.
Based in
Brisbane, you will work across both
study and execution phases of projects within the aluminium business unit, contributing to the development and control of
cost forecasting, reporting, and
governance. This role sits within a high-performing project services team and plays a critical part in enabling strategic decisions through accurate, timely project controls.
Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate and validate accurate project reporting across a portfolio of sustaining capital projects
- Oversee contractor project controls activities to ensure alignment with company procedures and standards
- Identify and implement improvements in project controls processes and tools
- Manage effective change control and contingency management processes
- Develop and maintain Final Forecast Cost (FFC) models with proactive risk identification
- Monitor and report progress against project plans, ensuring potential issues are identified early
- Produce and present periodic project performance reports (monthly, quarterly, ad hoc)
About You: - Demonstrated experience in project controls, ideally in mining, resources, or heavy industry
- Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting, reporting, and schedule analysis
- Familiar with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and project management systems
- Ability to work across multiple projects with varied scopes and stages
- Proficiency in Excel and cost management tools such as SAP
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to influence stakeholders with data-driven insights
