Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) to source a
Network Operations Field Officer to join their Network Operations Team.
Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) is a commercial Statutory Authority constituted under the Water Act 2000 whose purpose is to supply bulk water to major consumers in the Gladstone Region. GAWB manages a variety of assets ranging from major water storage through to pump stations, pipelines, storage tanks and water treatment plants. It takes measures to protect the quantity and quality of present and future water supplies and provides, operates and maintains recreational facilities and fish fingerling production facilities and stocking programs. About the Role As a Network Operations Field Officer you will be responsible for assisting with the operations and maintenance of GAWB’s Network Delivery assets to ensure GAWB meets customer and regulatory requirements.
This includes the implementation of GAWB’s Dam Safety inspection regimes and monitoring programs, supporting asset planning and maintenance management processes to ensure the network delivery assets perform at the expected standard to deliver high reliability water to its customers.
Your key accountabilities include: - Provide input and troubleshooting for any Network issues
- Supervision of contractors including reviewing work method statements and issuing permits
- Read and interpret drawings, write procedures and key guides as required
- Conduct routine monitoring programs for dam infrastructure
- Plan, execute and manage minor construction and maintenance projects within the Network
- Liaise between various internal and external stakeholders
- Manage risks through GAWB's emergency management plans, including execution of plan actions
About You The ideal candidate will have proven experience working within dam safety, asset management or the water industry sector and be proficient in water supply operation and maintenance practices. In addition, you will be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors with a good awareness of safety as well as following all safe work practices and procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
Essential Experience / Capabilities:
- Current “C Class Driver’s Licence (Manual)
- Demonstrated experience in Dam Safety, Asset Management or Water Industry.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of contractors, procedures and documentation.
- Demonstrated experience in the use and application of water supply operation and maintenance practices, procedures and techniques and equipment
- Proficient in the use of computer applications of MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Desirable - Accreditation in Dam Safety Surveillance
- Trade Qualification such as Plumbing or Mechanical Fitter
