We are working with a leading mining client in the Northern Territory seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their Fixed Plant team. In this role, you will provide engineering solutions, maintenance strategies, and defect elimination activities that support the safe and reliable operation of processing plant assets.
Working on a 7/7 roster with 12-hour days, you will be site-based and involved in a wide scope of equipment, including crushers, conveyors, switchgear, and bulk materials handling systems. This is a critical role where you will optimise equipment performance, reduce downtime, and improve long-term asset reliability.
Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement maintenance strategies for fixed plant equipment
- Conduct complex fault-finding and root cause analysis investigations
- Drive defect elimination and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide technical support to maintenance execution teams
- Coordinate with service providers, vendors, and contractors
- Support operational readiness for new and upgraded equipment
Key Success Measures: - Improved fixed plant availability and reduced unplanned downtime
- Effective implementation of preventative maintenance and defect elimination strategies
- Completion of root cause analysis investigations with sustainable countermeasures in place
- Delivery of asset management plans and engineering projects on time and within budget
- Positive stakeholder engagement across maintenance, operations, and contractors
- Compliance with site safety, statutory, and engineering standards
About you: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong background in mining, processing, or heavy industry environments
- Experience with crushers, conveyors, chutes, hoppers, tanks, and pumps
- Skilled in reliability-centred maintenance and preventative strategies
- Proficient in RCA, defect elimination, and data-driven decision making
- Knowledge of SAP and asset management standards (ISO 55000 advantageous)
Contract Details: - 6 months with a view to extension.
