Concentis is partnering with a local statutory authority who provides water in bulk to major consumers in the Gladstone region. Their vision is to deliver safe and reliable water services to enhance the liveability of the region.

They are looking for an experienced Health and Safety Business Advisor to join their team for this short-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional who thrives on collaboration, continuous improvement and driving positive safety outcomes across a diverse operational environment.

About the role:
Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will play a key role in implementing GAWB’s Health and Safety Strategy and driving initiatives within the Safety Action Plan. You will provide specialist advice, support the development and maintenance of the WHS Management System, and actively contribute to a culture of safety excellence throughout the organisation.
  • Provide specialist advice and assistance in developing health and safety policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Conduct site visits, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure safe systems of work
  • Lead and support investigations, reporting, and corrective action management of health and safety incidents
  • Facilitate engagement with operational teams to embed proactive safety practices and initiatives
  • Maintain and analyse safety performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Contribute to safety communications, campaigns, and training initiatives including Toolbox Talks and VOC programs
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance across projects, assets, and operational activities
About You:
  • Certificate IV or higher qualification in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable, not essential)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar WHS advisory or business partner role
  • Strong understanding of AS45001, WHS legislation, and best practice safety management systems
  • Proven experience conducting investigations, audits, and developing WHS procedures
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Construction White Card and a current C Class Driver’s Licence
