The Role As an
Estimator, you’ll play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for tenders and design-and-construct projects. Working closely with project managers, designers, and subcontractors, you’ll help drive successful bids through detailed cost planning, value engineering, and smart, data-driven decision-making.
- Analyse tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to define project scope, quantities, and key risks
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates across all tender stages, from feasibility through to submission
- Source and negotiate competitive subcontractor and supplier pricing to achieve best value outcomes
- Collaborate with project, and site teams to develop practical and cost-effective construction solutions and building insurance
- Identify value-engineering opportunities to enhance project efficiency while maintaining quality and compliance
About You: - Proven experience in construction estimating within the commercial, institutional, or infrastructure sectors
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and local market rates
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Buildsoft, CostX, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and numerical skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
