Gladstone Regional Council (GRC) to source a Corporate Strategy Specialist to join the Strategy and Improvement team. The Role Reporting to the Manager, Strategy and Improvement, your overall responsibilities as the Corporate Strategy Specialist will be to partner with various business units to develop and implement the Councils Corporate Plan. This role also plays a vital role in providing specialist support and guidance to Project Leads to ensure alignment when delivering operational plans and strategies.
- Lead the development, implementation and tracking of the GRC’s 5 year Corporate Plans
- Provide advice for annual operational plans, ensuring alignment with strategic planning framework, legislation and best practices
- Coordinate and facilitate the development and delivery of GRC’s Corporate Strategies, providing support to Project Leaders
- Research, develop and communicate GRC’s strategic and advocacy priorities, reporting on progress to business, Council and community
- Highlight escalation needs to the ELT and Council, responding to changes, needs and current issues as required
- Prepare communications and documentation on progress and milestones
- Utilise business solutions, alert the organisation to barriers and risks and ensure traction for strategics initiatives and the overall vision
- Represent council whilst promoting a positive image and maintaining networks within the community, business, government and private sectors
About You: - Bachelor Degree in Business (or related discipline) along with substantial experience in strategic and corporate planning
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and formulate solutions when problem solving
- High level communication and negotiation skills with the ability to present articulately, persuasively and objectively
- Proven track record in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders including senior management level
- Loves to connect the dots between activities across the business
- Understands the role of community in informing Council’s strategic planning
