Civil Project Engineer - Haul Road

Concentis is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to join our site-based delivery team. This role is ideal for a civil engineer with strong site-based experience who is ready to support the successful delivery of a Haul Road project. The position will oversee execution planning, contractor engagement, procurement, and site-based delivery to ensure project success.
This role is on a 12-month rolling contract, on a 9:5 FIFO roster.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, cost forecasts, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, subcontractors, and design consultants throughout project phases.
  • Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and resources for execution.
  • Oversee site delivery of bulk earthworks and contractor-led culvert installations.
  • Conduct geotechnical investigation planning and scope development.
  • Ensure technical design assurance, quality control, and compliance with standards.
  • Monitor project progress, manage approvals, and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies to minimise project disruptions.
Performance Objectives
  • Deliver the project safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, design, and safety standards across all activities.
  • Build strong working relationships with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Proactively manage risks and drive solutions during execution.
  • Provide consistent updates and reporting to the Project Lead and leadership team.
Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 5+ years of construction project experience, ideally within bulk earthworks and/or culvert installation.
  • Previous exposure to large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
  • Experience managing or coordinating design consultants is desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge of earthworks and civil construction processes.
  • Effective planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Commitment to safety, proactive attitude, and high personal integrity.
