Here at Concentis, we are seeking safety and detail-oriented Laboratory Technicians to join a Tier 1 mining client’s technical operations team based in Bundoora. These roles involve hands-on laboratory work across two key areas: mineral sample preparation and copper leaching test work. Whether you have a background in lab operations or are looking to gain experience in the mining and materials sector, full training will be provided.

These roles will be on a 6-12 month contract, working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week – with flexible working hours offered.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare mineral samples for analysis, ensuring precision and consistency.
  • Polish and produce sample blocks within set timeframes.
  • Clean lab and equipment regularly to prevent contamination.
  • Work independently across multiple sample batches.
  • Follow safety and procedural guidelines.
  • Maintain accuracy when handling very small samples (<0.1g).
  • Remain flexible to assist in other lab areas during low-demand periods.
  • Conduct copper leaching tests and monitor pH and Eh levels.
  • Prepare synthetic solutions and handle acids and bases.
  • Perform regular titrations and record analytical data.
  • Set up, commission, and decommission tests following specific procedures.
  • Submit samples for further analysis and maintain test logs.
  • Ensure workspaces are clean and orderly.
About You
  • Demonstrated experience in a laboratory or technical environment.
  • Certificate III or IV in Chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Forklift license (desirable for one of the technician roles).
  • Willingness to follow established processes and contribute to a positive team culture.
