Finding the right match between client and candidate is the key to successful project resourcing. The process is a mix of art and science and it is here that Concentis excels when placing roles within mining, energy and infrastructure.

Successful matching requires a unique combination of experience and knowledge, and a genuine investment of time to understand each client and candidate.

An ideal match has to be more than just a fit on paper. There must also be a connection between both parties' goals, motivations, personality and experience/requirements. Taking the time to get to know someone is crucial to identifying a great match, over a good one.

Finding The Best Fit

Chris Stevens is in a unique position to share how this matching process works in practice at Concentis.

Chris first engaged with Concentis in mid-2018 while applying for a contract Superintendent role at a publicly listed tier-one mining company. He credits the team’s ability to understand how

his experience aligned with the position for helping him secure the role.

“They were very good at reading into me and the skills in my CV and seeing where there was a fit, even though I hadn’t directly stated it,” he says.

“Right from the outset, the team were informative, friendly, collaborative and very clear on what the client was looking for.”

This included helping him understand why he was a good fit for the role.

“They prepared me very well for the interview and I went in feeling that I was the type of person the company was looking for. I felt confident and I believe that helped me put my best foot forward,” he says.

Six months after taking up the contract position Chris was offered the role permanently. This move saw him switch from being a contractor with Concentis to a client.

Understanding both sides

Experiencing the project resourcing process from both sides showed Chris why the team have such a high success rate when matching clients and candidates. They dig deep with clients, asking questions to clearly understand the role requirements and breakdown, the structure of the team and the culture.

“They have a very good understanding of what the fit should look like for both sides. Being a project resourcing specialist, they also really understand the mining sector. They don’t stop until they are satisfied they understand you and what you are looking for,” he says.

Personalised Service

Attention to detail and providing a tailored service is also a key part of the process.

“As both a client and a candidate I’ve felt the team were focused on my needs. I never felt like a number or just another candidate. Instead, I always felt that the team were genuinely interested and invested in me. As a client, they always go out of their way to understand what I need and they deliver, even if that role isn’t in their area of expertise.”

Today Concentis works closely with Chris to place quality talent into highly specialist roles within his team.
