Concentis are partnering with
Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) to source their Program Delivery Manager. The Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) is a commercial Statutory Authority responsible to the Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing and Minister for Water.
GAWB’s purpose is to supply water in bulk to major consumers in the Gladstone Region. Those consumers comprise major industries, power generating organisations, and the Gladstone Regional Council.
GAWB manages a variety of assets ranging from major water storage through to pump stations, pipelines, storage tanks and water treatment plants and takes measures to protect the quantity and quality of present and future water supplies and provides, operates and maintains recreational facilities and fish fingerling production facilities and stocking programs.
About the Role: Reporting to the General Manager Capital, the Program Delivery Manager oversees GAWB’s Capital Projects Portfolio to ensure capital work projects across the business are successfully executed in accordance with GAWB’s project management framework and compliant to all relevant guidelines and legislative requirements.
Additionally, this position provides specialist advice to key internal and external stakeholders and conducts the duties of a Project Manager for any assigned projects.
This is a true hands-on management role. The successful candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised and exhibit the following, qualifications, skills, and attributes.
Responsibilities: - Manage GAWB’s Capital Projects Portfolio, in accordance with GAWB’s Project Management Framework (PMF)
- The development, administration and control delivery of projects
- Ensuring all activities (i.e. business plans, schedules, scopes), and the management of relevant stakeholders and project lifecycle risks are carried out in accordance relevant guidelines and legislative requirements
- Leading with a continuous improvement approach to encourage innovation and advancement within project works
- Provide leadership, support, and guidance to foster robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee and mentor Project Managers, focussing on their core duties such as: Management of water related infrastructure project works; overseeing project commercial contractual arrangements; ensuring all project, business and regulatory reporting standards are met and communicated to appropriate stakeholders as required
About You: - Tertiary qualifications within Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline
- Current valid “C” Class Driver’s Licence
- Demonstrated relevant experience in management of medium to large capital projects within utilities engineering or related industries
- Extensive experience in project portfolio management
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and other required computer applications
- Highly developed report/technical writing and presentation skills
- Project Management Certification (AIPM or PMI) will also be advantageous
- Post Graduate qualification in Project Management, business or related highly desirable
